Thales missile manufacturing unit to produce 5,000 air defence missiles to Ukraine

The Thales missile manufacturing unit in Belfast is to produce 5,000 air defence missiles to Ukraine, the Prime Minister has introduced.

The deal is value as much as £1.6bn and can contain recruiting 200 extra employees.

Thales is a French-owned firm which one among Europe’s largest arms producers.

The order is for light-weight multirole missiles (LMMs) which Ukrainian forces are already utilizing.

A £162m contract introduced in September final 12 months noticed 650 LMMs equipped to Ukraine as an preliminary order to ramp up manufacturing, with the primary deliveries in December.
