Nice Britain’s Corie Mapp capped an excellent season by successful his first males’s Para-bobsleigh World Championships gold, simply two weeks after claiming the general World Cup title for a 3rd time.
The 46-year-old former soldier, who’s a double amputee, posted an total time of 4 minutes 54.03 seconds for his 4 runs in St Moritz to say gold by 0.3 seconds from Switzerland’s Jonas Frei, with Austria’s Hermann Ellmauer third.
Mapp grew to become the primary British man in 60 years to say a World Championships bobsleigh gold in what was his ninth try, after successful silver in 2019 and bronze in 2024 and 2017.
